Keeping you Informed

Home and School Liaison

We are eager to encourage co-operation between home and school, and welcome visits from Parents. Appointments to see Mrs Spicer or the class teacher can be made via Mrs Roberts, Admin Officer.

We will always see you at the earliest possible opportunity.

We ask you please not to go to the classroom to see the teacher during school hours or first thing in the morning to discuss a problem. It is very difficult for a teacher to talk to you properly when they are responsible for their class.

Parent Evenings

Parent Evenings are arranged each term to give you an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with the class teacher.

In the Spring Term parents of children in year 1 and 2 will be sent a written report, prior to parents evenings. School reports and the Foundation Stage Profile booklets include short term learning targets which we hope you will support with activities at home to help your child to take the next steps in their learning.

If the class teacher has concerns about your child’s progress this may generate an Individual Education Program (I.E.P.). Should this occur we will let you know. Our Special Needs Co-ordinator oversees all I.E.P.s and supports teachers in setting short term achievable targets to enable children to increase their rate of progress in line with other children.  Please do not hesitate to make an appointment with Mrs Gordon the Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) if you would like to talk to her. The policy for Special Needs is available from the School Office.
