Lunch

Children can choose between a school dinner provided by HC3S or they can have a packed lunch brought from home. Children can have a mixture of both.

From September 2014 free school meals are available to all children in Year R, Year 1 and Year 2.  School meals are cooked on site by HC3S; menus are forwarded to parents, but are also available from the School Office and are on display in classroom windows.  At Peel Common we operate a healthy eating policy and we have a number of children in school with allergies so please see the information sheet below for details of what to provide for lunch.

The school provides all children with a free water bottle when they start school and free milk for children up to the age of five / in Year R. Parents can purchase milk for their child after the age of 5 by registering with Cool Milk.  Fruit is also provided to all children daily.

If you were previously entitled to Free School Meals?

Children whose parents/guardians are in receipt of Income Support or Income Based Job Seekers Allowance, Child Tax Credit but not Working Tax Credit or Guarantee element of State Pension Credit would have previously entitled to free school meals.  It is still important to the let us know if you would have been eligible as the school will continue to receive extra funding for your child and you will receive a £10 ASDA voucher towards school clothing.

The legislation regarding eligibility is subject to change, however you can check your entitlement by visiting http://www3.hants.gov.uk/hc3s/freeschoolmeals.htm
