Nursery

In line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) we are largely a child initiated (with) free-flowing provision alongside which we plan and deliver focus group tasks and activities based on the children’s needs concentrating on early social skills, communication skills, physical development, as well as all other areas of development matters.

Across our Nursery we encourage children to play, explore, have a go, persevere and try out their own ideas.

We encourage independence at all times and the children are encouraged to find and be responsible for their own resources and of the tidying away afterwards. The children are encouraged to share, take turns and co-operate with one another and there is always lots of discussion and modelling if needed whilst they are involved in their tasks.

A combination of the above, some mornings and some full days can be catered for.

The government has created eligibility for free 30 hours childcare for working parents. All the information you need is on the following website

 Who’s Who in the Nursery

The Learning Garden is the name for our Early Years Unit which combines the Nursery and Year R bases and allows the children the opportunity to mix and learn together. The Nursery children are under the care and responsibility of two Early Year’s teachers and all the Early Years staff have key groups. The Nursery children’s key people are the Nursery Practitioners, who are the main point of contact on day to day nursery matters.

Teachers      Mrs Sarah Boothman and Mrs Tracey Leadbeater
Nursery Practitioners   Mrs Kate Clarke and Mrs Kelly Masters
HLTA   Mrs Sarah Cawte

We have three spacious rooms indoors with a garden theme; The Hive, The Nest and The Burrow. Each room offers different activities which cover all aspects of learning through a play based curriculum. Enhancing to this we have two superb garden areas, a small inviting quiet garden called The Tall Trees and The Orchard a larger space which is shared with Early Years YR older children which has a climbing frame, sand play, a wooded area and our own planting plot which children enjoy caring for.
